How We Started
At the age of 53 our founder, Mani, retired from his day job. But he didn’t want to sit around and watch the world go by – he wanted to help people.
His ‘Aha!’ moment came when he was talking with his son, Paul. He was a Policeman at the time and said he should think about interpreting for the force. He had witnessed on many occasions, problems arise due to miscommunication and language barriers. He felt passionately that there was more that could be done to overcome these challenges.
From the moment they spoke about it Mani knew that he was on to something special. A way that he could truly help connect people on a daily basis. Mani worked hard to get his qualifications as an interpreter and as he progressed he decided to open his own business. Debonair Languages was born in 2008.
Since then, under the guidance of Mani and latterly his son Paul, Debonair Languages have helped individuals, communities, organisations and many other different types of businesses to improve their communications. We believe that there is so much more that we can do to support you.
