Where did language begin?
“No other natural communication system is like human language. Human language can express thoughts on an unlimited number of topics (the weather, the war, the past, the future, mathematics, gossip, fairy tales, how to fix the sink…). It can be used not just to convey information, but to solicit information (questions) and to give orders. What is still more remarkable is that every normal child learns the whole system from hearing others use it.

How We Started
At the age of 53 our founder, Mani, retired from his day job. But he didn’t want to sit around and watch the world go by – he wanted to help people.
His ‘Aha!’ moment came when he was talking with his son, Paul. He was a Policeman at the time and said he should think about interpreting for the force.
From the moment they spoke about it he knew that he was on to something special. A way he could truly help connect people each and every day.
And, most of all, he wanted to be able to share that with his son.
Mani was stuck though. He was a great interpreter; but didn’t have any qualifications to back it up. The paperwork he needed was so far out of his price range that he didn’t think he would ever afford it.
But, in a style true to our family, someone was there to help. His Father in law, and our first ever patron, Ralph, gave him the money to get qualified and start up the business.
That was the day Debonair Languages was born.
Since then the business has grown more than he ever expected. We have helped lots of businesses improve their communications, and we want to help you do the same.
This year Mani brought Paul, his son, on board as the Director of Business Development, bringing everything full circle.
